1. If it's too hot for you to walk on the pavement barefoot, its too hot for your furry pal! Dogs dont die from missing a walk, they do die from heatstroke - plus can get burnt pads which will need treatment!
2 Its Grass Seed season! Check your dog between the toes and in their ears after walking in longer grass.
3 Heatstroke, first move your dog out of sun into shade. Cool down with room temperature water on tummy, paws and armpits, if you're at home put a fan on towards your dog. Do not cover in wet towels as this can trap the heat! Do Not use ice/freezing water - this can cause shock and restrict blood flow. Get your pet to us or another vet as soon as you can to be monitored - and make sure your vehicle is cool!!
