Brexit and Pet Passports

18 February 2019 | Jo

Some of you may have seen items in the news about what may happen to travelling with your pet to the EU after March 29th 2019! IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL WITH YOUR PET IN MARCH 2019, CURRENT ADVICE IS TO SEE YOUR VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

We will be endeavouring to keep up to date with any developments, but as we have no idea what the future has in store relating to our leaving the EU it is very difficult to give you proper advice.

Hopefully we will become a Listed 1 country, which could mean things stay more or less the same. If we are a Listed 2 country you will need to come to see David 3 WEEKS before travel and have different paperwork - this will apply every time you take your pet abroad!! The worst scenario is that you will have to start the procedure 4 months prior to your holiday. We all hope that it does not come to this and that common sense prevails.

We advise keeping up to date with your rabies vaccinations if you intend to travel for Half Term or the Easter break incase we get the worst scenario..... Call us at either clinic and we can advise you when this is due!!

Routine Vaccinations

Ensuring that your animal is fully up to date with their vaccinations is one of the most important things you can do to safeguard their health as a pet owner.
